About 65% of the population still earns less than Rs.30 a day. India has spent Rs. 1,000 crore in the last year on extra services like music, wallpapers, cricket scores, games on their mobile phones. Citi Financial (India's NBFC of Citigroup) is saying bye-bye to India - it seems. it is about to close more than 25% of its operations in India. Citifinancial is to close 125 branches out of the 450 branches in India. Is it the apt time for Citigroup to exit when India is developing at 8% per annum GDP growth. Wise decision ?
